Been so busy shabbir and shazo...i wanted to explain what went wrong in stitching that seat.
Now the upholster guy as i m of the same line would know...took the old cover off...unstitched it...opened all the joints and then laid those down on the new fabric and then he must have cut the new fabric pieces in the same dimensions as the old fabric...taking the old fabric pieces as templates.
But he forgot one major thing...that the fabric he was taking templates of was perfectly fit for the chair WHEN the foam of the seat was brand spanking new...and their was no wear on foams part....after a decade of wearing out..the foam simply shrinks...shredding top layers in the form of foam dust...so the new cover he cut n stitched was fit for a new dc2 seat having new foam but old which had worn out by now.
Now this is a common phenomenon in my daily routine at my workplace while upholstering old furniture.
It has two methods to get the perfect fit...first one is better one which makes the object in question return to somewhat original form and size is that we can add at least 1cm of foam sheet to each part and stick it to the old foam in the same shape....and then we stitch the cover having 1cm thick very soft polyfibre decron glued to the fabric's back while stitching it. And then we will get the wrinkle free fit as the cover would be tight on the foam.
The second is that after we have cut the pieces from the templates of old fabric...we can trim those new fabric pieces by 1cm from all sides. And then stitch the 1cm decron or 1 cm foam along with the fabric while stitching the pieces together, whichever is better but mostly decron is prefferable because it skids on the old foam while putting the fabric on the seat. This 1cm shredding off will result in negating the impact of foam wearing out over the age mostly.
Or we can always use the old templates but stich 2cm far from the fabric edge rather than the usual 1cm stitchinf off the edge of the fabric.
So shazo, like i said...be very careful in getting those seats upholstered and do add some foam at the back of it...im sorry i wasnt there to help you out properly and this resukted is waste of money and time...but this can be rectified by my option number one.
Plus i am glad the other seats cover has fit properly and now the first one can be taken care of too.
I hope this was helpful by any means for those who wants to get their seats upholstered in a better way.
