needed a second car and I prefer sedans, so out of the available options Saga (late delivery, warranty issues, cramped interior) and Alsvin (less reliable transmission system, engine knocking, cramped boot, fuel average and congested cabin) were not an option at all.
In toyota's line up, already had a yaris, it was an option, but also on the side lines was looking for other options, just to change taste you can say. Yaris had a wait of three months and buying on own would have added another two lackhs, the advance tax. Had recently sold my corolla and replacing it with corolla was not an option, i was fedup of always keeping an eye on it. Had faced two theft attempts... so past experience told me not to get in that hassel again.
Civic had several resons I did not opt for it. Very inadequate boot, shape was about to chage and paying exubirantly high own did not make sense, already had it in 18 and buying almost the same car back for twice the price was not something my heart was happy about. secondly had gone through that steering rack issue in the past, so despite assurances that the issue had been resolved, did not want to buy it again. moreover, since i have put on some weight, getting in and out is very uncomfortable, seats being very low
City is available in market on open invoice, seemed to be a good option. last year I bought a 1.2 variant thinking of it to be a fuel efficient model but soon realised that i need to switch to cvt, so sold it and booked 1.5 basic, however, eventually could not bear the anxiety of prices going up on daily basis, eventually ended up paying some premium and bought aspire. Am very much satisfied with my decision. what i love about city is the feel of the car, cabin feel is great, boot space is awesome, have added body kits and certain other mods... loving the ownership experience. most of all a fuel average of above 15 upto 18...
