Back when I bought it, it costed me 30K for the complete dashboard. There were some available for 18-20k as well but they were refurbished & weren't appealing.
What's your take on adding a stability bar in engine room? Does it help in planting the car during cornering or is it only a safety measure? Thanks
EXTERIOR - DENTINGI got busy with some stuff and almost all of my projects were left unattended. I got the Khyber back from the workshop as it is and parked it in my garage until I could finally get the time to start paying attention to these rust buckets. These are the pictures from the day when I got her back home. The denting issues that I highlighted in the previous update were fixed.
Bought a set of these brand new tail lamps. They were being marketed as Suzuki Khyber RS tail lamps, I was the first one to get my hands on them, loved the quality. Hopefully they'll look even better on the car, Insha'Allah.
Got my hands on these rare dual bulb bumper indicator/parking lamps. Made in Taiwan!I'll most probably change the covers to the clear ones and replace the bulbs with LEDs for better visibility.
Tail lamps look good

Can't believe I'm updating this thread after 9 months, you guys might be thinking I'm dead or something, time for some updates! These updates themselves are old but the thread had to be updated, so here they come!
MECHANICAL - THE ENGINEAs we all know it, the engine prices have appreciated, insanely. Never thought that those lousy K6 engines would sell for 2 lacs, but well, humare mulk me civic bhi to crore ki hogayi hai My initial plans regarding the engine were to swap this car's engine with the 1KR-FE from a 2nd gen Toyota Vitz, but I'd never pay that price for an engine that's going in a car that costs almost the same as that engine, so what were my options? K6 would make the car maybe a little more fuel efficient, but the power wouldn't be enough, so the last budget friendly option that I had in my mind was to get the existing engine overhauled. Enjoy the show, folks
MECHANICAL - THE ENGINELuckily, the engine wasn't overhauled before, this is the first time the seals have been opened so we had the room to overhaul it, otherwise, I had to end up paying a high price for another motor
MECHANICAL - THE ENGINEThe engine overhauling process took 2 days and the block was back, all clean, polished, with the new piston rods, bearings & gaskets. Everything in this engine is now brand new and I'm guessing it won't be needing another overhaul for another 5-7 years since we won't be using this car much and even if we will, it'll be driven like it's meant to be. Total cost of the overhaul with the labour and all the parts was around 55k which includes the cost of engine oil and the new oil filter. Not to forget the brand new engine mounts & belts!
MECHANICAL - THE ENGINEVoila! The engine was assembled back and now it'll sit covered with a plastic cover at the workshop until the engine bay gets painted
MECHANICAL - SUSPENSIONTook out the suspension to see what we're left with and what needs to be done. The bushes were damaged, the shocks were leaked and the wheel bearings were obv demanding a replacement, the brake pads need to be replaced as well. In short, everything needs to be replaced/fixed.
EXTERIOR - DENTINGNow, since I was spending/throwing money on this car's mechanicals, like the engine and the suspension, I obviously couldn't hold myself back from spending on the exterior, the car's headlight frames were rusted, I weigh 53 KGs so I'm not a tough guy, but a guy of my size could bend the headlight holders/headlight frames with my hand, so it was time to replace them, secondly, the front crash bar had to be replaced as well.
Just saw this thread. Epic stuff!!Keep us posted!
EXTERIOR - DENTINGI bought a set of undercoating for the car to avoid it from getting rusted, again. Is gaari pe ek tarha se main ne har tarha ka experiment kiya hai, from changing it's door panels to leaving it parked, or you can say temporarily abandoning it, I left it at the workshop to rust, but now? It's time to restore it back to what I had for it in my mind, for the starters? I only got the front left underbody coated. Before doing so, the car was thoroughly washed under my supervision, the painter removed the rust from the panels using the gritt paper and washed the car again before spraying the undercoating over the panel, it looked like liquid but after 15 mins, it became solid as a rock, so that's when I decided to undercoat the floor panels too.
@saad0irfanThank you, bro.I'll be more active on YouTube as well now, so you can watch the entire build there, as well.
