I have a 2012 Corolla Gli with a genuine engine, and I bought it second-hand, so I don't know the exact mileage. However, the odometer shows more than 100,000 kilometers. Currently, I'm using Toyota Petron 10W30, but the engine consumes 1 liter of oil every 3,500 kilometers. There is no black or blue smoke coming from the engine exhaust. Both the Toyota service center and some local mechanics have suggested using 20W50 engine oil to reduce oil consumption. Do you think I should go for it?
I've also read about PCV valve blockage being linked to engine oil consumption, but neither the Toyota service center nor the local mechanics have bothered to check the PCV, claiming it never gets blocked. I would appreciate your advice, @Xulfiqar bhai
Could you please recommend an engine oil grade and brand for the 2NZ-FE engine? Additionally, should I continue looking for a mechanic to check the PCV valve?
Also there is a photo on one of the spark plug.
