Toyota Fortuner & Hilux Sales See Remarkable 117% Growth

Every month, PAMA’s (Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association) sales report comes with surprising numbers. One month might reveal disappointing sales figures, while the next month offers a glimmer of hope.

The same is the situation car makers observed this month regarding last month’s sales. As per the PAMA report, Toyota Fortuner and Hilux sales surged by 117% in March ’24, selling 343 units combined. Meanwhile, Indus Motor Company sales increased by 21% last month. Moreover, INDU sold 2,065 units compared to 1,948 in the previous month. The company sold 1,722 units of Corolla and Yaris and 343 units of Fortuner and Hilux.

Coming to year-on-year on comparison, Toyota Pakistan sales dropped by 43%. The auto maker sold 1,948 units in the corresponding time period of last month against 2,065 vehicles last month.

Earlier, we informed you how Suzuki Swift outperformed its rivals in the local market. Pakistan Suzuki Sales observed a massive jump of 46%. PSMC sold 328 units of Swift last month against 145 units in March 2024. Moreover, the auto maker’s sales graph reached 6,000 vehicles last month against 4,101 cars in the previous month.

Highlighting the overall sales, the market observed 12% increase, selling 10,515 in April 2024 compared to 9,381 vehicles in March 2024.

However, in a year-on-year (YoY) analysis, there’s been a staggering increase of 135%, thanks to the stability of the Pakistani Rupee against the mighty US dollar. Car manufacturers managed to sell 10,515 cars compared to 4,483 vehicles during the same period last year.

What other Companies Earned?

Meanwhile, Honda Atlas witnessed a significant down of 54%, selling 1,003 units last month compared to 2,188 units in March 2024.

Pak Suzuki Motors Company’s sales increased by considerable 46%, selling 6,000 vehicles against 4,101 cars in previous month.

Hyundai Nishat increased by 18%, selling 686 units last month compared to 582units in March ’24.

It is worth mentioning that sales numbers for Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton are not included in the report as they are not PAMA members.
