MG 5 vs. Seres 3 – A Comparison of EVs

MG5 is a recent addition to the electric segment of Pakistan, and for our PakWheelers, we have decided to compare it with another recent launch, Seres 3. Recently, the local market has received a number of electric cars, increasing the competition, and consumers like them due to their low maintenance and intracity commute. So, here are the differences and commonalities between these two EVs.

Dimensions 

The EV by MG is 4600mm long, 1818mm wide, and 1543mm high. In comparison, Seres 3 has a length of 4385mm, a width of 1850mm, and a height of 1650mm. Furthermore, the Seres 3 is B-segment C-SUV against C-Segment Station Wagon, MG5. 

Power 

The electric motor power of MG5 is 115 kW with a battery capacity of 61.1 kWh and a company-claimed range of 403 kilometers. In comparison, Seres 3 has 120 kW electric motor power, 49.34 kWh battery capacity, and 403 kilometers company-claimed range per charge. 

The alloy wheels in MG 5 is 16-inch compared to Seres’ 18-inch ones. 

Interior & Safety 

The seat fabric in MG5 is fabric against leather in Seres 3, while both come with a 10.25-inch infotainment system and heated front seats. Both have six airbags, Front Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning as standard safety features. Seres 3 has front plus rear parking sensors, while MG 5 only comes with rear ones.

MG 5 EV has Lane Keep Assist as an additional safety option compared to its competitor.

Price 

The price of Seres 3 is 8,390,000, compared to Rs. 13,490,000 for an MG5 EV, making the former quite a cheaper car compared to MG’s vehicle.
