The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I (CCA-I) convicted everyone responsible for the theft of a Bentley Mulsanne guilty and levied hefty fines against them.

Earlier this September, the case of the stolen Bentley Mulsanne took the Pakistani media by storm. The case involved a Betley that was stolen from the UK and was recovered in Karachi, Pakistan. Now, all individuals involved in this case have been found guilty and fined by the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I (CCA-I).

Navaid Yamin, one of the thieves involved in this case, has been declared a repeat offender by the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I (CCA-I). Another case registered against him involves a stolen Range Rover taken from the UK and recovered from his apartment.

Navaid Yamin has been fined Rs. 15 crores after being found guilty by the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I (CCA-I). The other two culprits, Naveed Bilwani and Jameel Shafi, have also been fined a total of more than Rs. 13 crores for being involved in the theft.

Navaid Yamin had taken the aid of Naveed Bilwani to sell the car to Jameel Shafi for Rs. 3.7 crores. The luxury vehicle was brought to Pakistan in 2019 by a Bulgarian envoy stationed at the Bulgarian embassy in Islamabad. The car was registered in the name of a Bulgarian envoy, H. E. Aleksandar Borisov Parashkevov.

The authorities had tried to impound the car previously but failed to do so due to the intervention of the Bulgarian embassy. The embassy stated:

Navaid Yamin was the service staff of the mission since 2019 in terms of Act IX of 1972 Diplomatic and Consular Privileges Act, 1972. He [Yamin] is providing all kind of services to our mission at Islamabad including but not limited to importation of Diplomatic Goods from abroad and is rendering such services at our mission. Being service staff we have allowed him to use our vehicle i.e. Mulsanne V8.

However, CCA-I has proven that Navaid Yamin knowingly used Naveed Bilwani to sell the automobile to Jamil Shafi. Additionally, the CCA-I discovered that the stolen vehicle was smuggled using a diplomatic cover.
